Stuffed and fried leek cadeaux

It is true, that finding the right solution for a tasty and whimsical aperitif, without without being trivial, is never easy! Luckily La Pettegola is ready once again to come to your rescue, this time with a real… surprise! Stuffed and fried leek cadeaux will not only catch the attention of your guests but will satisfy even the most demanding palates.


  • 1 leek
  • 200/300 g raw taleggio
  • 1 egg
  • Chives to taste
  • Seed oil to taste


Here is the procedure: wash the leek, removing the greenest part and the roots. Slice lengthwise and separate the layers. Boil in salted water for 6/7 minutes, drain, and lay on a towel and allow to cool. At this point, cut the taleggio into 2 cm cubes and cut the leek into strips of the same width. Then roll the leek strips around the taleggio cubes, first in one direction and then in the other, as not to leave any parts of cheese uncovered.
So far so good? Now, dip each cube, first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs, then fry the breaded cubes in abundant seed oil at 190° C, for a 1 minute. Strain and roll a stem of chives around each cube. And remember: serve the cadeaux still warm, for maximum pleasure!
